A holding type capture device applicable to satellite docking ring docking comprises a circular bracket, a compressing member (1), a movement transfer member (2), a translation guide rail (3) fixed to the circular bracket, a rotating seat (4) and a cross pin shaft (5). The compressing member (1) matches the movement transfer member (2), and does radial movement relative to the movement transfer member (2) to enable a holding part to hold a docking ring of a target satellite. The movement transfer member (2) matches the translation guide rail (3), and does axial movement relative to the translation guide rail (3) to draw the target satellite close. One end of the cross pin shaft (5) is fixed to the rotating seat (4), and the other end moves in a curved groove of the compressing member (1). The rotating seat (4) drives the cross pin shaft (5) to move circumferentially. The curved groove is shaped to make the compressing member (1) do radial or axial movement. The curved groove of the compressing member is of a composite structure, and the shape of the curved groove decides that the compressing member does radial or axial movement. The device is flexible and convenient to design.
