Calculation and Simulation of Combined PCB-based Rogowski Coils

Compared to traditional Rogowski coil,the combined Rogowski coil overcomes the demerit of not guaranteeing the density of coil winding,and improves the coil's measurement precision.Thus,we proposed a new kind of PCB-based Rogowski coil,of which the secondary winding was structured by a base board and several auxiliary combined boards.Through theoretical calculation and simulation,we put forward a method for calculating the fatal parameters of coil,including mutual inductance,self-inductance,capacitors,and so on,as well as the method of calculating errors of position,interference,and temperature.Moreover,we studied the influence of the physical sizes of coil,such as wire width and wire spacing,on its mutual inductance and self-inductance.Results show that the proposed Rogowski coil has 0.5-level precision,and has high stability with good interference-resisting ability;meanwhile,due to its simple manufacture process,it is of significance for adopting Rogowski coils in metering and protection fields.
