Thermovision technique can be used in the metallurgical industry for controlling technical condition of devices, monitoring technological processes and supporting research procedures, including physical and numerical simulation. The examples of using thermovision as a useful tool for numerical simulation processes were shown on the basis of ProCAST software used for simulation of metal casting and solidifi cation. It was presented based on the example of numerical simulation of continuous casting of steel. In addition, the example of verifi cation of the results of numerical simulation of changes in temperature on the casting ladle surface based on the temperature measurements taken on the real object was presented. The possibilities of using thermovision techniques as a supportive tool in the research works for verifi cation of numerical calculation results by comparing them to the measurements taken on the real objects under industrial conditions were indicated.
