Ultra-wideband radio-over-fibre in transparent optical networks

This paper reports the latest advances in ultra-wideband fibre-to-the-home technology, highlighting technology challenges in its current implementation and discussing the technology enablers for the implementation in transparent optical networks. Comparative performance results with in-building optical networks are provided. Finally, the market opportunities of this technology are overviewed.
