An application specific knowledge engine for researches in intelligent transportation systems

We propose to establish a new type of structured search processes for collecting and analyzing information in application specific domains over the Internet, called application specific knowledge engines (ASKE). The basic idea is to use a knowledge configuration file (KCF) to specify topics, keywords, searching sequences and schedules for query processing. The key features of the proposed ASKE are user specific, application specific, and domain specific. A prototype ASKE for research in ITS is developed to demonstrate the efficiency and usefulness of ASKE.
