Robust Finite-time Voltage Restoration in Inverter-Based Microgrids via Distributed Cooperative Control in presence of communication time-varying delays

This paper tackles the secondary voltage restoration control problem for droop-controlled inverter-based islanded Microgrids in the presence of communication time-varying delays. We propose a novel distributed robust finite-time control strategy which is able to restore the DGs voltages to the reference setpoints in a finite time, as well as to cope with both communication time-varying delays and deviations induced by primary control. Delay-dependent robust finite-time stability conditions are derived as a set of Matrix Inequalities, whose solution provides the proper tuning of the control gains so as to guarantee the achievement of the control goal with prescribed steady-state and transient performances. Finally, a detailed simulation analysis confirms the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed approach.
