Comparative Performances Evaluation of DVR on Three Phase Distribution Network

ynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a series connected custom power device. In this paper dynamic voltage restorer has been implemented to solve voltage related power quality issues i.e. voltage harmonic in threephase four-wire distribution system. The distribution system consists either a star (Y) connected balanced R-L load or nonlinear load. Comparative performance of DVR has been investigated by considering both linear as well as non-linear load. A simple generalized algorithm for the generation of instantaneous reference compensating voltages for controlling DVR, based on basic synchronous reference frame (SRF) theory has been developed. The entire DVR system is implemented through extensive simulation using MATLAB software with its simulink and power system blockset (PSB) toolboxes.
