A technique to synchronize the reentrant flux reversal of the multiple magnetostrictive Fe77.5Si7.5B15 amorphous wires was developed using a flux keeper of amorphous ribbons that contacted the wire ends. It is found that the characteristics of the reentrant flux take place respectively at almost the same time in the three Fe-Si-B amorphous wires with a diameter of 65 or 95µm. This phenomenon can be explained by considering the strong magnetic coupling of wires and amorphous ribbon by stray field from each wire end. As a result, the magnitude of the induced voltage in the sense coil is increased in proportion to the multiplication of the number of wires. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
