Dynamic dead-time controller for synchronous buck DC-DC converters

A dynamic dead-time controller based on a novel dead-time detector for synchronous buck DC-DC converters is proposed. With this controller, the dead time of power converters can be dynamically optimised under any load condition. A voltage mode buck converter with this controller has been designed using Chartered 0.35 ?m CMOS process. Experimental results show that the power efficiency can be improved by 6.5% with the proposed technique.
