Targeted energy transfer among coupled nonlinear oscillators: complete energy exchange in a conservative system

Targeted energy transfer in a system of 2-DOF coupled nonlinear oscillators was investigated.Based on the slow-flow dynamics of the original system,the relation between complete energy exchange and initial conditions was derived.Numerical simulation showed that the initial energy required for complete energy exchange between the two oscillators can be calculated precisely using the formula derived;and the initial energy required for optimal targeted energy transfer also can be approximately estimated under the assumption of small damping.
