Predictive adaptive method for synchronous rectification

This paper proposes an innovative algorithm for synchronous rectification in LLC power converters. The algorithm optimizes the turn off instant of the rectifier MOSFETS by sensing the drain to source voltage detecting the body diode conduction and minimizing it. An overview of this method will be described in comparison to analog solutions. The algorithm, the equations, the digital implementation will be detailed. The comparison in terms of efficiency and component number will be shown with physical measurements based on a real implementation. The measures will confirm the analysis and the performance reached. Moreover the benefits of the method will show up.
