Efficient Available Spectrum Resource Evaluation in Cognitive Radio

This paper focuses on making full use of licensed band, while not causing harmful interference to primary user in spectrum overlay cognitive radio system. By adjusting the false alarm probability, the single channel's available spectrum resource can be maximized. The maximization problem for multi-channel is extremely complex, while the performance of traditional Greedy Algorithm is unsatisfactory. Hence, a modified greedy algorithm called Optimized Order Greedy Algorithm (OOGA) is proposed. Simulation shows that the result approaches the optimal one by using OOGA, meanwhile the complexity becomes acceptable.
