Effect of the relative height of vanes on turbine nozzle row losses

The results are presented from investigations of the effect of the relative height of short nozzle vanes of three different types on subsonic turbine row losses. The curves illustrating the total loss coefficient of the investigated rows as a function of their relative height are shown to have straight, convex, and concave sections; there is a range of relative height variation within which the change in total losses is negligible.
