Optimum Frequency Control Method to Counter Prediction Error Effects in Photovoltaic Generators : (Frequency Fluctuation Suppression Method Using Online Adaptive System Constants)

This paper proposes a method of suppressing the frequency change caused by the prediction error in photovoltaic generators (PVs). The power generation output of a PV is predicted using weather information. However, perfect prediction is difficult to obtain using the current prediction method, and there might be a difference between the actual and predicted values. This could lead to a change in the frequency and voltage, thereby leading to deteriorated power quality. Generally, the frequency is controlled by the frequency characteristics of the thermal power generator and the load; however, a PV does not have frequency characteristics. We have confirmed that the frequency change can be suppressed more than ever by adding frequency characteristics to PV by research so far1. Therefore, in this paper, we focus on attention to imparting frequency characteristics to PV, and propose an operation method which optimizes not to deviate constantly the change band of frequency.
