A 16 × 16 microstrip array of electromagnetically coupled patches operating in the high‐gain region

A microstrip array at 18.4 GHz consisting of 16 × 16 rectangular electromagnetically coupled patch antennas operating in the high-gain region is experimentally investigated. The pattern and impedance characteristics of the array are compared with the case when the parasitic elements are removed.
