Comparison of zhibituo and simvastatin in the treatment of hyperlipidemia: A Meta-analysis

Objective To review the effect and safety of Zhibituo and Simvastatin in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.Methods Databases of CBM,VIP,Wanfang, CNKI,PubMed,EMbase and the Cochrane library were searched,randomized trials of Zhibituo compared with Simvastatin in the treatment of hyperlipidemia were gathered.Quality was evaluated and meta-analysis was carried out.Results 16 studies were included.1 was graded B and others were C.Meta-analysis indicated that the differences of TC,TG and HDL-C were significant,MD(95%CI)were 0.23(0.09~0.38),0.16(0.00~0.32),0.09(-0.17~0.00),whoever the differences of LDL-C was not significant 0.14(-0.05~0.33).Conclusion Based on the current evidence,for the treatment of hyperlipidemia,Simvastatin is better than Zhibituo for decreasing TC,TG and HDL-C,but Simvastatin would increase the risk of liver function impairment.
