New developments in the production of methyl methacrylate

Abstract Methyl methacrylate MMA can be produced in different ways based on C2C4 hydrocarbon feedstocks. In the present review, the recent commercialized and expected MMA technologies will be described and a comparison of these production routes is given. Thereby, the catalyst development will be strongly emphasized.
