Prediction of hot deformation behaviour of 10Cr–10Ni–5Mo–2Cu steel

Abstract Hot deformation behaviour of 10Cr–10Ni–5Mo–2Cu high alloy steel was predicted using hot compression tests at different strain rates and temperatures. The occurrence of dynamic recrystallization can be estimated by implementing a Zener–Hollomon type equation which predicted the necessary strain for the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization. Also, the required deformation stress at high strain rates, close to those happening during hot strip rolling, was determined.
