Evaluation Indices for Traffic Environment of Expressway Tunnel

According to the changing rule of traffic flow and the characteristics of traffic running environment in expressway tunnel,this paper puts forward the selecting principle for evaluation indices of traffic environment in expressway tunnel.From the views of optimal service level and the minimum running cost,the evaluation indices are analyzed with Delphi and the Main-Element Analytical Method.According to the affecting degree of various indices on the traffic running environment,an evaluation indices system for traffic running environment is established,which is composed of three aspects: traffic effect factor indices,environment effect factor indices and dynamic effect factor indices.The function of each index is also discussed in order to offer theoretical base for the evaluation of traffic running environment of expressway tunnel.This evaluation indices system is applied in evaluating the Beijing-Zhuhai expressway tunnel in China.The results indicate that the evaluation indices system is easy to be used and is accord with the practice condition.1 fig,7 refs.
