The purpose of this research is to study the effect of heat transfer in an motor with a rotating heat pipe. One purpose is to analysis the heat transfer motor as its temperature rise. The other is to predict the temperature distribution on a model device consisting of a rotor, shaft and heat pipe. The analysis shows that the predicted temperature distribution in a motor running at a given thermal input and speed agrees well with the experimental data. The rate of heat transfer on a rotor which has a rotating heat pipe is more than 30% greater than without the heat pipe.
