Timing jitter characterization of dual-comb system via TWTFT method

We present a method of timing jitter characterization for dual-comb system. The concept of two-way time and frequency transfer (TWTFT) is adopted for cancelling path drift. The method is verified by a numerical simulation. Based on simulation, we investigated the effect on the precision from the number of fitting points, and quantizing noise as well. The simulation could enhance the understanding of timing jitter characterization of dual-comb system, and dual-comb time and frequency transfer. The proposed method could significantly reduce the environmental variation when confronting with remote combs and clocks.
