Spatial Disorder in Complex Neuro-Fuzzy Dynamics

In this paper one-dimensional chains of locally interconnected nonlinear dynamical systems are considered, focusing on how to reach a self-organised behaviour by introducing spatial disorder. In particular each sub-system in the chain is modelled by using NeuroFuzzy technique which allows us to create very complex systems employing both empirical and measured quantities. The possibility to reach spatio-temporal organisation is investigated through experiments in which uncertainty is introduced in the parameters of each local sub-system. The obtained results are very interesting, since they address the use of disorder as a suitable way to control spatio-temporal irregular behaviour in a chain of fuzzy systems.
