Proceedings of the first international conference on Networks for grid applications

Welcome to Lyon and GridNets2007. This year, GridNets will be the first stand alone conference with the support of ACM SIGARCH. It has been a real honor and privilege to serve as general chairs. We hope that GridNets will become an important forum, where researchers and practitioners openly exchange ideas and report progress in the exciting area of grid computing and networking. This year, GridNets will deliver a stimulating, informative and delightful program. Recent advances in optical communications and networking technologies have created unprecedented new possibilities. This year's conference focuses on a range of new issues and challenges and weaves them through the keynotes, the panel and the technical program.
