Deformated Facial Caricature Drawing by Words

This paper describes facial caricature drawing reflecting impression of a model's face. For caricature drawing the following information is expressed by words: A hair style, a gender of a model, facial features such as a face shape, eyes, eyebrows, a mouth, ears, impression of a face and the part of a face drawn using the deformation style. The part of a face expressed exaggeratedly is drawn using the deformation style. Fuzzy sets are applied for the expression of the meanings of words representing the parameters values of facial features such as the size, the length, the slant. A facial caricature is drawn as the result of the fuzzy sets operation. A drawer can modify facial caricature candidates by words. The modification procedures are repeated until a drawer is satisfied with presented caricatures. The modification procedures update the parameters values reflecting impression of a drawer. Experiments are performed for the confirmation of the effectiveness of the proposed system. As a result, it is verified that the proposed system can draw a caricature reflecting impression and the deformation part of a model's face.
