Experimental Study of Surface Topography Created by Abrasive Waterjet Cutting

In this work has been detailed studied the surface topography of aluminium with the aim of quantification of morphologically different zones initial, smooth, transition and rough zone by means of surface profile parameters Ra and Rz obtained from 24 depth traces. The surfaces have been measured by means of optical profilometer MicroProf FRT that allow studying especially the initial zone that has not been deeply studies and described. From analyses of the parameters Ra, Rq and Rz obtained by means of optical profilometer - MicroProf FRT. It has been proposed a new way of classification of morphologically different zones on the basis of the quantitative parameters Ra and Rz.
