Women in computer science: harnessing the power of web 2.0 to draw women to computer science fields

A poster outlining a seminar course targeting freshman women who are undeclared in a major or who are interested in Computer Science (CS). This course is envisioned to showcase to female students (and possibly male students) the broad scope of application in CS that is shaping their future. Taking into account the individual interests of the students, we will develop projects that merge computer science and technology with their interests. For this course we will utilize Web 2.0 technology as a complementary tool in the class since many of the students are already familiar with social networking and other aspects of the technology and will use these to build a CS portfolio.
