Apparatus and method for manufacturing a solar cell

A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a solar cell. The apparatus comprises a housing defining a vacuum chamber, and a rotatable substrate device that is configured to receive a plurality of substrates on a plurality of surfaces, each of the plurality of surfaces is arranged so as to face an inner surface of the vacuum chamber. A first sputtering source is arranged to apply a plurality of absorber layer atoms of a first type to at least a portion of a surface of each of the plurality of substrates. An evaporation source is arranged in a first partial chamber of the vacuum chamber and adapted to apply a plurality of absorber layer atoms of a second type to at least a portion of the surface of each of the plurality of substrates. A first insulation source is adapted to isolate the evaporation source of the first sputtering source.
