Self-Customization of E-Knowledge Using Color Semantics

It is a common practice for readers to highlight portions, clumps, of a printed document deemed important for later use. In this research effort, the benefits of highlighting process are extended to e-Documents. The analysis, design and implementation of a software system, Prospector, is presented, which is able to (1) provide for highlighting of clumps in an e-Document using different colors, (2) enforce color semantics, (3) deliver customized veins of clumps in an e-Document, (4) aggregate the same-color clumps, (5) support dynamic review of the highlighted clumps, and (6) provide for editing of the clumps.
