A NEW MODEL FOR AN INTEGRATED URBAN TRANSPORTATION NETWORK

This paper proposes an approach for the performance evaluation and control of an intermodal transportation system. The system is represented as an oriented graph whose elements are nodes, macronodes and links. For the system considered, a discrete event model is presented, integrating public and private transportation methods. The behavior of the system is studied by a simulation tool. Some control strategies are proposed to guarantee the regularity of the transportation services.
