Measurement of Vehicle Speed Based on Harris Corner Detector

This paper presents a method to measure the speed of the vehicle in video sequences conveniently and speedy. Motion corner points are chosen to form a feature vector, and the image intensity is used as a feature matching function to measure moving distances of the vehicle between consecutive frames. Compared to traditional methods, not only the device restriction but also the operation speed has been improved. Keywords Harris corner detector, motion corner point, intensity correlation
