1‐Cyclopentyl‐4‐(4‐fluorophenyl)‐7,7‐dimethyl‐4,6,7,8‐tetrahydroquinoline‐2,5‐dione

The title compound, C22H26FNO2, was synthesized by the reaction of 4-fluorobenzaldehyde, Meldrum's acid, dimedone and cyclopentylamine hydrochloride, together with sodium acetate, in ethanol under microwave irradiation. The pyridone ring adopts a screw-boat conformation and the cyclohexenone ring an envelope conformation.
