Production of24Na from27Al by (35 ÷ 100) MeV protons

SummaryThe excitation function for the production of24Na from (35 ÷ 100) MeV proton irradiations of27Al has been experimentally determined in the external beam of the McGill University synchrocyclotron. The experimental results, together with those of several other authors, are discussed. The conclusion is reached that a reaction mechanism possibly involving emission of3He is not likely to occur.RiassuntoSi è misurata, usando il fascio estratto dal sincrociclotrone dell’Università McGill, la funzione di eccitazione per la produzione di24Na nel bombardamento di27Al con protoni di energia variabile tra 35 e 100 MeV. Обсуждаются полученные зкспериментальные реэультаты. Полученные реэультаты укаэывают, что воэможный механиэм реакции, включаюший змиссию3Не, вероятно, не имеет места.
