Fuzzy-Logic DC-Motor Controller With Improved

The design and simulation of a novel fuzzy logic controller for controlling the speed of a dc motor is considered in this paper. The proposed controller results in reduced oscillations around the set point which are present in system with a basic fuzzy logic controller. By adding an error interpreter to the basic fuzzy logic controller, it is shown that the chattering around the set point is considerably reduced. The paper presents the simulation results obtained on a dc motor control system with a basic FLC as well as an improved FLC. The step responses for two different set points are given. It is seen that the response with the modified FLC has a smaller overshoot and a smaller rise time both of which are desirable.
