DYNAMIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL OVER INTER-VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS IN ITS

This paper proposes two dynamic control methods vehicle to vehicle communications in which numerous vehicles transmit and receive data packets directly over broadcasting-type wireless communications with limited bandwidth. The proposed methods adjust the transmission power and transmission interval of the vehicles according to changes in the vehicular communications network. Two methods are used to estimate these changes. The first uses the records of received packets and the second evaluates the traffic capacity on the roads. Results from a computer simulation regarding the validity of the two transmission control methods are reported and performance results are compared between different protocols.
