Protestant clergy as political leaders: theological limitations

Dix-huit ministres protestants ont ete interroges au sujet de leur image de leaders politiques. Alors que les membres des deux traditions considerent que la politique et la religion ont de nombreux points de chevauchement, les ministres Evangeliques et Mainline se sentent retenus au sujet de la politique en raison de considerations theologiques. Pour le clerge Evangelique, le contenu des croyances religieuses constitue l'entrave principale a la socialisation politique tandis que les ministres Mainline sont reserves par rapport a leur pensee theologique. Ils apparaissent peu disposes a invoquer l'autorite religieuse pour supporter leurs points de vue politiques
