Parameter Estimation of Multiple Frequency-Hopping Radar Signals

In this paper, a new parameter estimation method with center-time transform applying the improved pulse repetition interval (PRI) to the central time sequences is proposed for multiple frequency-hopping (FH) radar signals. The parameters consist of hop-period, hop-time and carrier frequency, and the estimation of hop-period is the basis of the others. Before the work of the parameter estimation, we prefer to detect the number of FH signals so as to further improve the estimation accuracy. Then with the detected time-frequency peaks and threshold setting, we will get the hop-period estimation, and once the hop-period is obtained, we can estimate the hop-time and carrier frequency subsequently. Finally, the following simulation results will be shown to demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed method.
