Vibration Analysis of a Rotating Elastic Disc-shaft System Containing a Transverse Crack

This paper established a mechanical model for the elastic disc-shaft system containing a transverse crack in general case, and a set of dynamic equations are set up by using Lagrange principle. An assumed modes method is developed to investigate the vibration characteristic of the system, the relation between system's vibration frequency and rotational speed, depth and position of the crack are researched in details. Present results are compared with available data for special cases.
