The Surface Finish Resulting from Peripheral Electrochemical Grinding

In peripheral electrochemical grinding, there are three fundamental removal modes involving mechanical abrasion and one mode which has no mechanical contribution viz (1) totally mechanical removal, (2) electrochemical removal combined with mechanical removal and a zero overcut, (3) electrochemical removal combined with mechanical removal and an overcut greater than zero and (4) totally electrochemical removal. For correct process control it is necessary to know which operating settings produce the desired mode of removal.
