Optimized Solar PV Based Distributed Generation System Suitable for Cost-Effective Energy Supply

The gap between energy demand and supply is a major issue in smart cities in India. The adaption of renewable energy-based distributed generation using solar-PV is a standard option to address such issues. However, the hypothesis of solar-solar everywhere will lead the whole world towards an irreversible situation where the dumping up of solar-PV salvage will be a challenging task. In this paper, an attempt has been made to highlight such arising world scenario and also a suitable mechanism for optimum augmentation of solar-PV through distributed generation. A new component of energy cost called dumping cost has been introduced in this paper as a futuristic approach to check the soil pollution. A control mechanism has also been presented in this paper which will deliver the power to the utility grid at unit power factor. The unit power factor operations of the proposed system not only reduce the technical distribution power loss, but it will also considerably reduce the power congestion in the utility distribution system with the use of minimum compensators arrangement. The proposed controller has been tested using MATLAB Simulink software and the simulated results are successfully verified through a prototype hardware arrangement.
