Investigation of Temperature Rise in an Induction Motor Considering the Effect of Loading

This paper presents an investigation into the temperature rise in induction motors used to power machine tool spindles by considering the effects of loading. To develop a second-order fitted power-loss distribution model for the constant-torque operating range of the induction motor, we employed the design of experiment and response surface methodology techniques. In particular, the way in which the temperature of the induction motor rises is calculated using an equivalent thermal resistance model. Finally, the analysis results were experimentally verified, and the validity of the proposed analysis method was confirmed.
