Applications of diode laser feedback interferometry

We review the major features of laser diode feedback interferometry for sensing applications. The ensembles of the feedback effects on the optical field can be exploited for several non-contact measurements such as displacement, distance, vibration amplitude and frequency. Methods of signal processing are also discussed. On resume les characteristiques principaux de l'interferometrie par diffusion dans le laser a semi-conducteur. Les effects dus a l'injection de la radiation diffusee par le cible dans la cavite du laser peuvent etre utilises pour des mesures de deplacement, de distance, d'amplitude et de frequence de vibration. On illustre aussi les methodes de traitement du signal.
