Influence of Guide Vane Structure on Performance of Reactor Coolant Pumps

As we know AP1000 nuclear power plant adopts the reactor coolant pump with rotational speed of 1 450 r/min,different from conventional 1 750 r/min.Using forced vortex method and velocity modulus method,relevant components of the reactor coolant pump were designed,including the impeller,annulus water chamber,twist and diffusion 2 types of guide vanes etc.Numerical simulation on different design conditions of the guide vane was carried out based on Fluent software,while static pressure distribution and flow pattern inside the coolant pump analyzed,showing the actual flow field characteristics inside the pump.
