Control of integrator processes with long dead-time

Abstract A novel control scheme with a simple design procedure is proposed for integrator processes with long dead-time. This scheme contains three controllers configured for different objectives. With this scheme, the set-point response and load response of the closed-loop system are separated from each other, and can then be independently designed to simultaneously obtain fast set-point tracking and efficient load rejection. Simulations show that the proposed scheme also has good robustness to variations in process dynamics compared to the existing schemes.
