Avaliação da coerência entre três métodos de determinação do módulo de elasticidade da madeira de Pinnus Oocarpa

There are several techniques for characterizing the elastic modulus of wood, and among those currently employed, we h ighlight those that use the natural frequencies of vibration for being non-destructive techniques, and thus present results that can be repeated and compared over time. This study aims to assess the consistency of the results obtained by testing of transverse vibration and static bending, usually employed, with the results obtained with a new technology solution for non-destructive characterization based on resonance frequency of longitudinal developed by ATCP – Physical Engineering. And yet, qualify them for ease of accomplishment. We used 30 beams Pinnus Oocarpa with dimensions of 4 x 24 x 200 cm and 30 with dimensions of 4 x 24 x 300 cm. There is consistency between the results obtained by three techniques and ease of implementation when the equipment Sonelastic ® is employed, since it does not require a specific sample holder and calibration, thus reducing the execution time and favoring large amount of test samples.
