Latency characteristics of wavelength-switched packets in WDM multi-hop ring network

Improvement of the latency characteristic by using a wavelength-tunable laser diode at each node was confirmed through numerical simulations. From these results, the required wavelength switching time was clarified to be <10 ns for 2.5 Gbit/s ATM signals.
