Control Charts for Manure Treatment Process

Sustainable agricultural systems require managers of animal feeding operations to predict the costs and environmental performance of their manure processes. Manure processes may be stabile; it may not be. In stabile processes, the variation to expect in the future is predictable. Costs and environmental performance are predictable. If the manure process is not stabile then costs and environmental performance are not predictable. Control charts are graphs used to analyze variation from a process. By comparing current data to historically determined lines, managers can make conclusions about the stability of their manure processes.
