PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus and a method thereof are provided to obtain a printout nearing to a desired outcome easily by offering printing paper information enabling to be outputted to users through height and breadth information of FixedPage. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus(100) includes a communication interface unit(110), an XPS(XML Paper Specification) file processing unit(130) and a control unit(150). The communications interface part receives an XPS file. The XPS file processing unit changes the XPS file into an output data format corresponding to a printing paper through height and width information of the FixedPage within the received XPS file. The XPS file is outputted in the printing paper. The control unit controls the output of output data.
