Risk-constrained Energy Management of Cooperative Microgrids

The problem of coordinated energy management of multiple-coupled microgrids is considered in the proposed work. The framework aims at regulating the inter-microgrid and grid power exchanges, with the objective of minimizing the distribution power losses. Within this framework, a riskcontrol scheme is embodied, that regulates the volatility associated with the expected profits of microgrids due to various system uncertainties. Results corroborate the efficacy of the proposed framework in reducing power losses and renewable energy curtailments, while maintaining a tradeoff between maximizing the microgrid profits and controlling its variability.
