Interface between structural and system analysis

Abstract In this paper, a brief discussion of the relationship between system and structural reliability in complex technological systems is presented. Fuctionally, a structure is considered from two points of view, namely, as a part of operational system and as a part of standby safety system. For each case, load characteristics and the effects on and from the structure are explained using some examples.
