Structural Engineering in Natural Hazards Mitigation

This two-volume set of proceedings, Structural Engineering in Natural Hazards Mitigation, contains the papers presented at Structures Congress '93, held in Irvine, California, April 19-21, 1993. These include the three keynote papers and summaries of presentations from more than sixty sessions of the technical program. The topics of the three keynote papers, bridge engineering, seismic design criteria for transportation structures, and wind engineering, introduce the major topics covered in the contributed papers. Within these broad subjects, these papers discuss everything from research to codes and standards, as well as new developments of protective systems and innovations in structural analysis. The contributions have a good balance between theoretical concepts and practical applications.
